Covid 19 update/Nursery closure.
Thank you so much for the support we have received since the Government announced the nursery closures.
As many of you know we are a small family run business, who have been trading for 20 years. In that time, we have never experienced anything like the events of the past weeks, in particular the changing information broadcast every night from Downing Street.
My team and I are passionate about serving the children and parents in the Taylor’s tots community, and with this in mind we have taken the decision to remain open to aid the key workers who attend our setting, of which there are many.
Please let me remind parents that the Government advice is to0, wherever possible keep your children at home. The nurseries/schools that are remaining open are for those children who have no care else where, and absolutely need to attend. Clarification on the crucial key worker list is avaliable on line under “the closure of educational settings-information-for parents page “.
We have also had many phone calls and emails regarding fees, and many parents concerned and worried about keeping their nursery places open. This has also caused us some anxiety about staff retention, and wages.
Following on from some very welcome news from the Government only yesterday evening, we are now in a position to inform you that if your child is not attending the setting during April, you will not be expected to pay nursery fees, and you nursery place will be held for you if you so wish? I hope this provides some relief in this worrying time.
March fees have been used primarily for staff wages, so we will be unable, given the timing of the announcement, to reduce other nursery costs.
Once again, if you are a key worker or are considered to have a vulnerable child, you can continue to attend the nursery and fees will remain unchanged. if you are at home with your children, you will not be expected to pay fees.
We look forward to welcoming you all back to Taylor’s tots in the coming months, and we will keep you up dated.
